Over the weekend I have been building a cabinet to put my mitre saw, grinder, drill press, etc on. I can store each tool on shelves that slide out and I can using them on top or store them below. I will eventually make two more small adjustable cabinets that roll around also. They can been hooked together and adjust in height and I will make a table top that will hook to them. I want to make cabinets that I can roll out of the way and store when I am not using them but will be able to use them all over the utility room when I need tools and space.

I also plan on building some storage shelves for the rest of the stuff in the utility room. I also want to put that on rollers and on the back of that cabinet I want to make a rack to put 4×8 sheets of wood to store. I am also planning out a rack that is up at the ceiling to store other solid wood just to keep it out of the way but easy to get to when I want to use it.

So many plans. I hope to have a chance to get 5 to 10 sheets of plywood next weekend. That should keep me busy for awile I would thing. The cabinet I made this weekend was made out of mdf that I had sitting around from a few other shelving projects. That stuff is easy to use and holds up to just about everything but liquid.

I mounted the center speaker on the wall finally. We moved the bookshelf with the cd’s and movies downstairs. We also moved jenny’s bookshelf down. Have yet to move all of the books though. I hope to get that tonight. We have to move the cedar chest down also.

Last night I caulked around the toilet downstairs also. Hopefully that will be setup and finished tonight. I will plan on posting some new pictures of the progress later this week.

This afternoon I was able to get all of the cat5 cables terminated and labeled. I am still trying to figure out how I want to hang the switch that all of the patch panels will plug in to. I may put a shelf up there that I can put my cable modem, router and switch on. I still have to label all of the coax cables and redo that wiring. It is all hooked up and working right now but I still have to redo it and make it cleaner and labeled.

We re-arranged the living room upstairs. It has much more room now that there is not stereo or tv up there. We still want to get the bookcase that holds the cd’s and dvd’s moved out of there. I still need to move jenny’s book shelf out of the room upstairs also. I hope to finish moving everything else this week and get the office setup downstairs.

The replaytv and television are all hooked up and working. I also hooked up the xbox to the projector. Man that is very nice on the big screen. I have it setup at 720p right now. I still have to mess around with the resolution and figure out what games will work at that resolution. xbmc works at that resolution and looks great.

Over the past 2 days I have done a little bit more on the basement. Last night I finished hooking up the last subwoofer and moved a few components around. Cleaned up the signal to the cable box so every channel looks good on the projector now.

Today I cleaned up the fridge and moved it into the main room. Loaded it with drinks. I moved the bowflex down to the main room also. Moved a few other things around to make room. Tonight or tomorow I will move the tv from the living room down to the main room in the basement.

I am trying to figure out what is going on with my home network. My wireless network seems to be having problems. I thought it was my cable modem but I believe it is my linksys router now. I may have to flash it back to factory defaults and firmware to try to figure out what is going on.

Soon I will be hanging pictures and a few other things in the office. I will probably bring the files and printer down to the office late tomorrow. I finished all the coax cables today. I will try to finish the network cables tonight and tomorrow.

Tonight I hope I have time to clean up all of the cables and get everything tucked away nicely. I want to get both coax cables and both network cables that are in that corner of the basement terminiated in the utilityroom. I will have to move a few things around so I can get back to that corner of the utilityroom. Hopefully everything goes smoothly and I can get the new cable box up and running so I can view tv on the new projector. Can’t wait to check out the hd channels. I hear discovery HD has some great HD content. From what I can tell I should get all networks except CBS, they are holding out for more money I hear, and then the showtime and hbo channel and about 5 or so others. There is currently 12 hd channels it looks like.

Last night after setting up the projector on a table and playing with it for a bit and then mounting it to the ceiling and running it off the cables that go through the ceiling, I decided I needed sound. I started on the rear speakers. I then mounted the side speakers. I do not like how the side speakers turned out. I will probably remount those this evening. I will also bring the rest of the stereo equipment down and start getting that all finalized. Everything is ready for front left and right speakers and the 2 subs. I still have to figure out how I want to place the center channel. I hope to have all the audio hooked up and running tonight. I also want to have a new cable box with HD hooked up also. I will probably move the tv down there later this week or early next week. I still have to decide on placement of the tv. I am very happy with the projector so far. I just have to tweak placement of the speakers and I will be ready to watch a move down there. Here are updated pictures taken of the basement.

I was able to finish up everything with the new toilet. It is fully operational now. It uses very little water. I think it uses something like 1.4 gallons of water for every flush. Amazing. I put up the towel holders and worked on putting the mirror up. Found out the mirror we purchased had a bad spot in it so we took it back and had to go to menards to pick up a replacement. The new mirror is made by the same company but it is just a little taller than the other. I will have to move the top mounts up a bit before I can get that finished. After that I believe the bathroom will be finished.

Tonight I spent about and hour on the toilet installation in the basement bathroom. Got the toilet flange installed and screwed down. I then was able to put the wax ring on and place the toilet base. I hooked everything I could up. I have to get a new hack saw blade bacause I broke my current blade cutting the bolt on one side. Just one more bolt and I can put the second cover on. The toilet seat is installed. The tank is ready to go. The water line I got is just not working. I will take the current one I have and get one that is flexible and about the same size. Once I get that part I will be able to hook the water up and we can use the bathroom. After I get that finished up tomorrow I will work on getting the mirror installed and the rest of the towel holders and what not.

Good news though. My costco order was updated to shipped status. The projector shipped from California. Should be here on the 21st. I have to get things inplace fast. Now to see what is holding up the projector mount. No tracking info on that as of yet. I will find out what is going on with that later today and cancel if they are not going to ship it today.
